How Can Hypothyroidism Be Diagnosed?

I think I must have hypothyroidism - I have almost all of the symptoms that Wiki lists! Extreme fatigue (took today off), poor memory and concentration, weight gain with little appetite, blotches of dry skin on my legs. I should also mention that my sister is being treated for it and, like myself, is Type 1 diabetic. I think I have had this condition for a long time, but when tested, my doctor said I was on the side but didn t take any further investigation or prescribe anything. Generally, energy levels, inability to concentrate at work and borderline depression are what I am suffering from. Any answers, questions etc would be gratefully received! Thanks, John. 604-328-8725

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
usually in type one diabetes there will be associated thyroid abnormalities
check for thyroid function test.
and start taking thyroxin which will settle things but with advice of doctor.
check your Hba1c and make sure that diabetes is under control.
I suppose I have given the desired response if you have any other query please write back.
Otherwise please accept & rate my answer. I will appreciate your review about my answer.
Best Regards.
