Can Meftal-P Be Given For High Fever And Blocked Nose In A Child?

My 9 year old daughter is down with high fever. Today is day 4. She has 101.6 fever. Today her fever suddenly shot to 103.5. After cold sponging it came down to 101.6. Cold and blocked nose. No other symptom. Pls advise what should be the dose of Meftal P

Hi, very sorry to hear about your child.
Please don't ignore the fever if the temperature is above 100'F and continuous for 4 days. Only cold sponging might not help the condition. High fever associated with cold and nasal blockage are suggestive of flu, viral infection, common cold or respiratory infection. Keep her warm and well hydrated. Continue tepid sponging and also give antipyretics like Calpol or Meftal P depending on her weight. If it doesn't help, consult Pediatrician or Physician.
