How Can Gout Be Treated?

I am experiencing a severe gout attack much worse that any previous one. It is affecting both big toes, my right ankle and my left elbow. Many of my other joints are sore as well. I started on Thursday night and is still peaking. I have been alternating prescription strength doses of Naproxen and Ibuprophen, but they are just mildly helping for the pain. I am trying to get in to see my primary care physician, but that may be a day or two out. Should i go to a minute clinic to see if they can prescribe a more effective medication?
