Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 22 year old male and I have been experiencing hairloss for the past 5 years. I have tried minoxidil after consulting a doctor but I have got no positive results. When I looked about minoxidil online I found that it is only good for those experiencing androgenic alopecia. The problem with me is that I am experiencing diffuse hairloss or overall thinning of scalp.I have no medical history of illness or allergy. So can I know what might be the reason for my hairloss. PS. I have a problem of having excess belly fat while my arms are skinny, excessive sweating and I get exhausted quickly.Does that indicate any underlying illness responsible for my hairloss?

How Can Excessive Hair Loss Be Treated?
Hello welcome to the health care magic Don t try any self medication.... Minoxidil not working, hence possibility of androgenic alopecia less because hair loss also not male pattern type As per history rule out thyroid problem by serum TSH, free T4 estimation.... If thyroid problem present than further specific treatment for that should be done Take care Hope this will help you Consult dermatologist for examination and discuss your case
