How Can Ear Infection And Perforated Eardrum Be Treated?

I have had an ear infection which was extremely painful for approx 3 weeks, had two courses of Amoxycillin, the eardrum perforated. My ear is still very uncomfortable over nine weeks later and my right is Tonsil is tender. When I blow my nose my ear whistles. Any advice would be very much appreciated as I feel that my GP is missing something.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best to see an ENT specialist at this time since the symptoms have been going on for at 3 weeks.

The ear drum should heal on its own, this can take 4 to 6 weeks in some cases. The noise that you are hearing should improve during this time.

I hope this helps
