How Can Diverticulitis Be Treated?

I recently went to the emergency room. I had gone to the bathroom and passed a good amount of blood with no stool. I was told I have diverticulitis and sent home. I was prescribed no meds or given any informatiion about diet or what I should take. Is there anything I can take over the counter until I can see a gastro doctor?

Hi, I have gone through your query.I would advise you to take a high fibre diet like fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains.Take an Antispasmodic if you are having pain. You can take a Pro&Prebiotic. If bleeding continues you may need hospitalisation for a day or two for observation.
