How Can Dementia Be Treated?

im a 67 yr old man my mom got demetia in early sixty,s lived to 93 but did not know anybody last 10 yrs i have memory loss not bad can do anything anybody else can do. but loose my train of thought sometime about what i was going to do it will come back to me . my brother is 75 and worse . I changed my diet to fruit and vegies a little chicken fish &turkey no red meet if i read alot it,s better im not a reader . i watch to much TV but on this diet 6 month seams better no sugars natural only is there anything i can do that my mom did not do to slow the onset tried sugar free that was bad stuff . I get on the computer a lot makes me think and that helps i used to know where every thing i had was and i had a lot of stuff now it,s hit or miss weather i can find what im looking for is there anything that mite help slow it down.

The medications are not very good; technically they work but the effect is very small.
Exercise and trying a lot of new cognitive stuff (hobbies, interests, activities) probably have the best data for helping.

But one should look at other possibilities: infections, anemia, depression and, one might also mention that BLOCKING PHENOMENA (in which a thought or phrase gets in and blocks accessing/remembering a similar one) occurs in everyone beginning about age 30 and is not a disease.
