How Can Cold And Ear Ache During Pregnancy Be Treated?
I ve been having cold symptoms. Congestion, slight cough. I am pregnant so my doctor told me to only use saline and Tylenol. He said I would get better w/o any meds. My ear was hurting a few days ago which has subsided but now I cant hear from my right ear and my left ear is only slightly better. What can help this or do I need medical intervention?
Decreased hearing or a full sensation in the ears can occur with coughs and colds due to involvement of the sinuses or eustachian tube.
The eustachian tube is a tube in the ear that connects the middle ear to the back of the throat.
In most cases, the symptoms resolve on their own. If you were having persisting ear pain then ear infection would need to be ruled out but you indicated that this has improved.
If it recurs, then you would need to be assessed.
I hope this helps
