How Can Chronic Sneezing Be Prevented?

I have been coughing, sneezing post nasal drip when i sit up to the point where I almost vomit. Lying down I have no problem except sinus congestion I ve had since I was 12. 58 now. I use phenylephrine nose drops. I detoxed myself from Hydrocodone 60 mg. per day after 26 yrs. of being on it off & on. 3 disk surgeries on L4, L5 & S1 for sneezing & constantly herniating disks from sneezing. It started 2 days after withdrawal. Have been off since March 3rd & the only symptom that persists is this. How can I stop sneezing & is it from withdrawal or allergies? I take OTC Zyrtec per my doctor.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The coughing, sneezing and post nasal drip are not likely related to the withdrawal.

They would be due to either allergies or a new onset cough/cold.

In addition to the anti histamine that you are using, a topical steroid nasal spray may also help eg nasonex, nasocort, rhinocort, flonase

I hope this helps
