How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

I have been constipated for months, as in only going once a week by forcing myself and having to push on my stomach to release what only looks like a few pebbles. About 3 weeks ago I started to use laxatives now I can go only when I take the laxative. My doctor proscribed me linzess. Today is daay 4 of taking it and it has not work. I feel horrible my stomach feels hard and bloated and after taking two laxative I still can not go. What should I do?
