How Can Cerebral Palsy In A Child Be Treated?

My daughter aged 4.4yrs ,have CP(cerebral palsy) level 2000 .We are giving continuous physiotheraphy,occupational theraphy,speech theraphy from the age of 8 months. it seems very very slow recovery.she is standing with the help of some support and she speaks one word äkka . Please give your detailed suggestion or any other treatment to be provided?

Hi,

I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. As per your history, please find my advice below:

1) Before I advise you the treatment, let me know some parameters in details:

a) TSH level?
b) Lactate and pyruvate levels?
c) Ammonia levels?
d) Organic and amino acids level?
e) Chromosomal analysis ?
f) Cerebrospinal protein?
g) MRI findings ?
h) Electroencephalography study?

Treatment Plan-

1)Management of body movements - Physiotherapy, injectable drugs

2) Neuro and Orthopedic Surgical Methods-

a)Intrathecal Baclofen Pump Insertion

b)Selective Dorsal RHIZOTOMY

c)Stereotactic Basal Ganglia Surgery

So discuss about these procedures with your consulting doctors as the child is only 8 months old so in future after age 5 surgical treatment will be done.
