How Can Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Be Treated?

My 99 year old mother has been diagnosed with mild carpal tunnel syndrome right hand and moderate in left hand. She isn t a candidate for surgery. How can we get her some relief from the tingling electrical shocks up her arms and her sore shoulders?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The use of a brace for her wrists and pain medication should help her symptoms to improve.
Pain meds include naproxen, cataflam, ibuprofen

There are also medication that can be used specifically for nerve related pain and other symptoms ( shocks) if the usual pain killers are not helpful. In carpal tunnel there is compression to one of the nerves in the wrist.

I hope this helps

For a mild carpal tunnel syndrome you only need to institute some physiotherapy and wrist splints. That should suffice
