Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been diagnosed with bursitis in the hip. Normally, it just restricts my walking for any distance but in July of this year, it suddenly became impossible to lift my leg at all. The Dr. gave me a cortisone shot in the area (painful) but it took care of it. He also gave me prescrp strength ibuprofen and tramadol for pain. I gradually stopped taking them but now the pain is back altho not as bad as 2 months ago. I ve started taking the super strength ibuprofen but wonder if there is anything else I can do to prevent having another cortisone shot.
Hi Thanks for trusting HealthCare magic for your health problems.
It takes 1-1.5 months to resolve inflammation of this type of tissue. Till then you have to get rest, so that movement can be restricted which enhances speed of healing. The medications you are taking are enough to make you pain free if you take it regularly. Still after 2 months if pain persist consult ophthalmologist..
