You need to be on long term therapy with good medicine like Propranolol tablet which the Doctor will give after you are examined properly. Avoid stressful situations, bright lights, loud sounds, do Yoga, deep breathing exercises to relax, avoid coffee, chocolate, smoking, alcohol as they increase migraine headache and prevent relief. Consult a Doctor as soon as possible for proper prophylactic therapy to prevent further attacks and to get good medication like Sumatriptan which will abort a mibraine attack very effectively, Migranil can be dangerous if taken everytime for headache.

Headache is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed condition. Migraine is a very specific condition in which there will be severe headache (usually on one side only) and is associated with nausea, vomiting and visual problems. Apart from these, there will be intolerance to bright light and noise. There may be family history of similar problem.

There are many ways to treat migraine (both to abort the headaches as well as prevent them). Consult a psychiatrist/neurologist for detailed evaluation after which a suitable medicine can be started.

Most importantly, one should not forget the role of lifestyle modification in the management of migraine. Regular sleep and eating habits, avoidance of tea/coffee/chocolates and minimising stress are some of the factors which should also be addressed.
