How Can An Infected Bump In The Areola Be Treated?

I believe from after reading some things that what I popped on my breast was a Montgomery gland. It had like a yellow-orange puss come out followed by a little bit of blood. My only problem is it s still a large bump on my areola. What do I do? It has a very open center now and looks as if more could come out.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

If there is some fluctuation over this bump and you feel like fluids may come out then you need more specific treatment and it should be drained by medical professional: it can be drained with needle or small surgical procedure may be required. In every case, it looks like breast abscess and antibiotics wont be efficient. ALso, it would be beneficial to do breast ultrasound as well since some more serious diagnoses may be underlying cause of an abscess such as tumors. But this is rare especially if this is limited to skin of your breast.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
