How Can An Ankle Sprain Be Treated?
Sprained ankle 2 days ago - caused by an impact - am totally weight bearing - no pain to inside but just above ankle bone on outside of foot - swelling has gone down 50% - can move ankle up and down but minimum sideways - have been walking on it with an air cast - also elevating when sitting down and icing - Question do I ever apply heat and ice to the ankle?

Advice
1. Take rest for few days and avoid strenuous activity
2. Hot fomentation with slight warm water
3. Apply Relaxyl ointment every 4 hours with gentle massage
4. Ibuprofen 600 mg per oral after meal when pain is intolerable. Otherwise avoid it
5. Consult a physiotherapist for exercise
