How Can An Abscess On The Upper Gum Be Treated?

I have what I believe is an abcess on my upper gums left inside of my mouth. I have had it for about 3 weeks and sometimes it is very painful and very swollen and sometimes its not so bad.I have a missing crown adjacent to the huge blister like thing? I was assuming that it is caused by infection ? I believe that I need to have the remainder of the tooth surgically removed ? Is it dangerous ?

Dear it seems to be and infected tooth only. Yes you need to get it removed asap and continue with strict routine antibiotics as gum infections can eaisly migrate elsewhere and can cause bigger problems
