Hi,
Welcome to Health care magic.oI understand your concern.
1. - Microscipic Examination of stools confirms diagnosis of amebiasis .Once diagnosed treatment is started with amebecide drug.. Metranidazole alongwith antibiotic Norfloxacin (if secondary infection with bacterias is found in pathological test)&pain medicine to relieve colic if present.
The trearment runs for sufficient days depending on severity & chronicity of infection.
-As the infection tends to recur.. repeated courses of an active drugs are given with treatment free intetvals in between.
-The treatmrnt free intervle is utilized for supplementing Lactobacilli .. so as to improve intestinal health.
2. To reduce recurrance..
-Drink only boiling water.
-Follow strict food hygiene to avoid reinfection while cooking&serving food.
-Hand washing .. specially cleanliness of nails carries importance.
-Avoid spicy &oily food with excessive chillies.. as this irritates bowels to restart activity of amebae.
3Maintenence of self health by having fresh, nourishing food .
*Consult physician/gastroenterologist..for expert management of drugs, dosage & intervals
Thanks.
