How Can A Sunburn On The Head Be Treated?

My son has a severe sunburn that resulted in blistering on the head (he has alopecia and has no hair). The large blister popped and appears to be oozing a little. He said it doesn t hurt but looks moist and the ooze has since crusted on his head. Not sure if I should apply something to it, cover it, let it dry out. I didn t know if cleaning it is an option or even how to do it.
