How Can A Shin Injury Pain With Heel Pain Be Treated?
i hit my shin 4 days ago when playing soccer against a guy who was running really fast... It hurt a lot but then got better and i continued playing. After i was done with soccer right away i iced for 20 minutes and then iced and elevated. The next day i worked out 5 minutes in the elliptical but it began to hurt so i stopped and haven t worked out of course but since last night my heel hurts. I can t afford to go to the doctor since my insurance sucks and i have to pay for the visit... and I am an athlete so I need to workout... what can I do? Is this normal? I am female 26 5 4. Thanks!

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. From description it seems to be soft tissue injury . You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance. Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
