How Can A Pregnancy Be Aborted If Need Be?
hello Dr my last menstruation date was 25/08/14, and my periods are regular but this month till now my periods did not come.i had last sexual contact with my husband on 1/9/14, soon after my period.but after that i had not any sexual contact with ma husband coz m living far from him, i don t want to get pregnant for one year..is there any chances of pregnancy this time.kindly suggest any tablet..coz this is very crucial time for my future.

The egg is released 14 days prior to next expected menses. So considering your cycle of menses as 30 days, your egg would have been released on 11 September. Egg is having life of 24 hours and the sperms are active for 72 hours. Hence a weeks around the date of egg release is considered as a fertile window (from 7 Sept to 15 Sept). Your sexual contact was 6 days earlier the fertile window. So the chances of pregnancy are very low.
However, if your menses are delayed then you may get urine tested for pregnancy detection about 8-10 days after missed period on overnight first morning urine sample. Done earlier, false negative results are known. Alternatively you may get Beta hCG test performed which gives reliable results even few days before missing period.
If you are pregnant, you may terminate the pregnancy by medicines Tab. Mifepristone followed by Tab. Misoprostol. These medicines should be taken only by Obstetrician's advice and under supervision. They are safe and successful up to 9 weeks of gestation. For pregnancy or duration beyond that may need surgical intervention for terminating.
If you are not pregnant, you are relieved of the stress.
