How Can A Pilonidal Cyst On The Buttocks Be Treated?
I have had a pilonidal cyst since 2 years now on my right but cheek and recently have been getting another one on my left cheek which is causing me a lot of discomfort, I ve had 2 surgeries before to remove the cyst but I got it and have been scared to go for surgery again. I can t sleep or walk properly because the left cheek cyst is really swollen up and hurts a lot. It s excruciating, is there any home remedy anyone can please tell me to make it stop.
Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Clinical evaluation of 'pilonidal cyst,' what you are having, needs to be done.
If a superficial infection is noted, then you need to be treated with a course of appropriate antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications. If the infection has penetrated deeply, then surgical intervention needs to be done by surgical exploration and removal of the cyst. There are no definitive home remedies for the treatment and cure of pilonidal cyst.
Kindly consult surgeon in this regard for appropriate evaluation and management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ashakiran S
