How Can A Perforated Eardrum Be Treated?

My son is diagnosed with an eardrum hole which most likely will need surgical procedure. But she has asked us to wait for two or three months to ensure body s natural healing of the eardrum . Do u think homeopathy or Ayurveda or home remedies can help him expedite natural healing ??

Hello,
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern.
Most of the times ear drum perforation heal of its own and does not need any treatment but you must keep some suggestions in mind.

1) Keep the ears plugged while having shower so that water must not enter into external auditory canal.
2) If patients ear is draining pus put his on antibiotics like Amoxycilin.

3) Don't put unnecessary ointments of ayirvadic or home made into it.
If these agents are antiseptic you can use for first week but after that avoid them because they will delay healing may cause permanent ear damage.

If ear drum will not heal in 2-3 months you must consult a ENT specialist and get it surgically reapered.
Hope my answer will help you and you will write to us further too.
Regards
