How Can A Painful Spider Bite Be Treated?

I think I was bitten by a spider on Friday morning. It was in my folded pants in my closet and bit me when I put my pants on. It was very painful, burning and throbbing. We put ice on it. Today it is redder and bigger than it was on Friday. Larger than a quarter. Should I go to a doctor to get this checked, or wait it out?
