How Can A Hard Palate Lump In The Mouth Be Treated?
Hi - for the past 5 weeks, i have been taking HCG for weight loss. I am a social smoker and noticed that after going out last weekend, i had a bump on the hard palate of my mouth. I went out this weekend and noticed that it has gotten bigger. It is not painful. Research online implies that it could be related to hormone change or smoking, but i am unable to find any confirming info. I will be taking HCG through next weekend and hope that it will go away by not smoking. Thoughts?
As per your complain a bump over the hard palate can be a mucus cyst known as Mucocele, an inflamed minor salivary gland known as Adenoma, it if it bony hard it can be a Palatal tori due to over growth of bone.. In few rare cases it can be a cancerous lump.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations like FNAC [if required] can help in confirming the diagnosis.. Treatment can be planned accordingly as mucocele and palatal tori can be removed surgically while adenoma can be treated with anti-inflammatory medicines and surgically if does not resolve..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
