How Can A Fungal Skin Infection Be Treated?

Hi, I developed a fungal infection first about 10-12 weeks ago. The treatment took about three weeks, but it finally worked. I received the treatment at an Urgent Care facility (not a hospital). Another episode occurred. Treatment followed. It worked. I saw my primary care physician (a fabulous doctor) eight days ago for my usual follow up. The fungus had made its reappearance a few days before. He gave me another ketoconazole prescription. He said it is very difficult to get rid of it. I am 76 y.o. and active. I teach two classes each semester at a community college. Any suggestion on what path to take. Thank you.
