How Can A Bump At The Site Of Stitching On The Lip Be Treated?

I got stitches in my bottom lip after being split in half during my car accident. this was in january. it s not noticeable on the outside but I have a bump where my stitches were placed. will it ever go away? I don t mind it healing but I want it back to normal. I can t say certain words comfortably & it s just uncomfortable altogether. I just want to know in due time will my lip be back to how it once was? like is this still the healing stage?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having hypertrophic scar on lip.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a hexilak gel twice daily on it.
3. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are intralesional steroid, intralesional fluorouracil given only by a dermatologist.

Thanks.
