How Can A Bug Bite On The Back Of The Arm Be Treated?

i have a bug bite on the back of my arm. originally i thought it was a mosquito bite, but it has bothered me for two weeks now. It had a scab on it, that was scrubbed off in the shower, and now the area is red, small blisters surrounding the original bite area, and itchy more than usual. i have applied topical anti-itch cream off and on for the last week, and today, due to it s bothersome nature, i have applied tea tree oil 2x and peroxide 1x.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about insect bites.

As per your history it seems to me that your bite is at least two weeks old and is not healing.

As you said you are using anti itch cream for the treatment, as most of anti itch creams are steroid in origin and steroids are known to cause delay in wound healing.
If I would have been your treatment doctor I would have advised you levofloxicin antibiotics for a week, because it seems to me the now infectious lesion then an allergic one.
Also keep your wound clean by washing it with warm sterilized water(boiled).

Hope my answer will be helpful to you and write us back if you need any further help.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
