How Can A Bruise On The Left Hip Be Treated?

i fell down the 13 stairs on sunday and i smashed my left side hip. it came up red but cold compress took that down but as the day went on the bruise came up and there is a lump under the bruise. i have been able to walk sit stand and walk up and down stairs so i know it isn t broken but it does hurt when i stand and sit. should i go to A & E or would i be wasting there time. Thanks

Hello! Thank you for your question! For as long as you can move without any limitations you will be fine just apply cold compress(ice bag) on the affected area for the first 24 hours. The muscles in your hip may be inflamed due to the trauma, any pain reliever that also has an anti inflammatory effect may be able to help lessen the pain. But in any case, you should also get an x-ray of the hip just to rule out fracture.
