How Can A Bee Sting On The Foot Be Treated?

My friend got a bee sting 2 days ago on her foot. It is extremely swollen and yellow, it looks like someone colored all over her foot with highlighter and it even discolored her pinky toe. She complains about it hurting and being itchy, is it inflected? What can we do do get the swelling to go down and the pain to stop

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
It appears from your description that your friend's foot has been infected following bee sting.
Kindly do the following to overcome the same.
1. Cleanse the area with antiseptic solution Povidine-Iodine thrice daily.
2. After drying, apply Neomycin cream over the affected region.
3. Take a course of oral antibiotics containing Amoxacillin with Clavulenic acid.
4. Take antihistaminic medication Tablet.Loratidine once a day.
5. Apply ice packs over the region to overcome swelling and pain, when necessary.
6. Keep the foot end elevated while sitting and sleeping.
Keep the wound clean and dry.
Gradually, the infection should resolve and it should be back to normal.
