How Can TSH Levels In Blood Be Maintained During Pregnancy?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...What can I do to maintain healthy TSH levels during pregnancy? I requested that my TSH levels get tested, and it came back at a 5.2. I am being referred to an endocrinologist. I am choosing to not go to the appointment, as I do not want to be placed on meds. I have 2 beautiful, healthy girls. My weight was about the same as it is now. I do not feel the need for meds.

hi dear, your TSH level is moderately higher than normal, you need to do fasting TFT to confirm it. and your doctor will start with small doses of thyroid hormone tablets if you are hypothyriod. which is essential in pregnancy, because hypothyriodism has got its effect on fetus. usually this hormone comes back to normal after delivery, so you need not worry much. please go ahesd with appointment. i hope i have cleared your doubt.
