Management of IBS is detailed below -Avoid fatty, fried and spicy food -Following low-fat dairy diet can help -Fiber supplements containing Psyllium -eat fiber rich food like vegetables, bran, oat etc -You can take over the counter anti-diarrheal like Loperamide -try avoiding stress. Practice relaxation techniques like yoga, exercise etc -If the above measures fail, Tricyclic antidepressant like Nortriptyline can be added to the treatment regimen.
