How Can I Abort My Pregnancy At Home ?

I took MTP pill on 20th of March bcz the pregnancy test was positive. My last MC was on 19th of Feb. I got bleeding for 3 days with some clots and every thing was Ok. But today (21st of April) just to confirm, i used home pregnancy test kit to confirm the abortion but to by surprise the test still shows the positive result. Please advise

Hi,
according to the history given by you the chances are,
1. incomplete abortion with some products of conception remaining in the uterus,
2. Still viable fetus is there inside the uterus only some amount of bleeding occurred which may not affected the fetus,
3.rare possibility you may having two gestational sacs or very rarely two cavities in the uterus,
4.you ovulated regularly after MTP and got conceived
To confirm any of the findings you have to visit local gynecologist and get checkup and ultrasound done.
In case of incomplete abortion D&C can be done, if case of viable fetus the treatment depends on your decision to continue the pregnancy or not.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

You have mentioned that you took the MTP pill on 20th march and was tested positive for pregnancy 21 Apr 2011. One month has passed after taking the pill and abortion. If u have had sex during this one month period( especially between april 6and april12) there is every chance of you becoming pregnant again. The positive pregnancy test could be due to to the fresh pregnancy rather than due to failure of previous abortion.

Please see a gynecologist if you do not want to continue pregnancy. Do not take MTP pill on your own with out consulting a doctor.

Wish you a very healthy life

Take care

Hi,
Welcome to HCM

There are three possibilities-
1. In spite of complete abortion, Pregnancy test can remain positive for 4 weeks after the abortion.
2. It is possible that your pregnancy is continuing.
3. May be it is a new pregnancy. Did you get your period in April? What contraceptives you are using now?
It is better you go and see the Doctor who may advise you to go for pelvic scan and blood test for confirmation.
Take care!

Kindly go for an ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy as there are two possibilities one there is incomplete abortion , secondly you have conceived again . If your scan results are positive then you can decide and go for D&E from a OBG Doctor.
