How Beneficial Are Susten 200 And Pause 500 During Pregnancy?
hi.. im having early pregnancy. the report are positive.. but have some blood spotting. my doctor has prescribed me Susten 200 once a day. may i know what is it for?? & how will it help me prevent my pregnancy??? also i have been prescribed pause 500 twice a day... is it safe???
Hi, Thanks for the query. Progesterone is the hormone of pregnancy. It helps in maintaining the pregnancy. Susten is natural micronized progesterone. It helps in preventing premature uterine action and spotting. It belongs to category B drug and may not harm the fetus. Pause 500 contains tranexamic acid. It is a anti fibrinolytic drug. It helps in controlling the bleeding. You can continue the progesterone tablets till the completion of first trimester with your doctor's advice. In case of Rh negative pregnancy, you may need anti immunoglobulins injection. Continue the pregnancy with regular antenatal checkups and ultrasound examinations. Take care.
