General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in HCM.
Well, pregnancy has to be calculated from the last menstrual period.
It should never be taken into account the time of having intercourse.
Ultrasound report will not tell the EDD (Expected Date of Delivery) or weeks of pregnancy properly. The variation may be +/- 1 week to 10 days.
But the measurements and other parameters like heart rate are nearly accurate.
Hence, you need to calculate weeks of pregnancy from the date if last menstrual period (LMP).
