How Dangerous Are Heart Palpitations ?

Is it a sign of a pending heart attack or just a message from the body telling you to exercise more, quit smoking, and watch the caffeine intake? I ask this because my best friend gets flutters and irregular heartbeats from time to time and she's too paranoid to go to a doctor. Thanks!

first you need to go to the doc and find out whats causing the palpatations. they may not even be palpatations. you will need several tests like an ekg ( a tracing of the electrical activity of the heart).this is painless and takes 5 min. or less. caffeine causes a lot of palpatations as well as smoking, so definitely cut down on both. palpatations can lead to more serious problems, so get it checked out. good luck.
