Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking half of a percocet every 4 hours except at night but the first thing I take as soon asI wake up is half of a 10mg pill but I donot want to take more. I may take 4 halts during alone day period but I need to stop. What should I do to stop all Peter
Hey Peter, I'd be glad to help you with your question. I think the first thing you need to consider is why you are taking Percocet. If you have chronic pain, then you may need to replace it with something else. In addition you will need to be fully aware that Percocet will stop pain much better than typicall over the counter meds, abnd as such you SHOULD NOT just start taking a lot of Tylenol in it's place. You need to talk with a physician about the best way to wean this, find a suitable replacement and manage your expectations.
If you are taking this as a recreational drug, you need to stop this as well. However this may not be appropriate to attempt alone. It is great that you have the desire, but without the appropriate suport you may not be able to do it alone.
As such, no matter your reasons for switching, I suggest you do so with the aid of a medical professional.
Regards
