Hit Hard On Butt Area. Dark Purple Bruise Appeared. What Treatment Should Be Done?

I fell about a week and half ago and I hit my left side of my butt pretty hard. It is now a really dark purple bruise with a large lump. It is really big and I find it hard to lay on my left side. I haven t been to the doctor but wonder can you suggest what it might be or what can be done for the bruise and lump. Thank you, Sharon

Hello
Local icing three to four times a day for 2to 3 days and anti inflammatory drug like ibuprofen 600 mg three times a day for 3 to 5 days should serve the purpose.
Bruise and lump seems to be due to local bleeding below the skin and in muscles.
Consult your doctor if size of lump increases or symptoms worsen.
Thanks
