History Of Removal Of Side Of Thyroid Due To Cancer. Pathology Report On Other Side Shows Nodule Extending To Tracheal Surface, Tumor Extending To Trachea. Explain

Yes pls. I had thyroid cancer on my thyroid right side, was 1.5 cm nodule that was papillary carcinoma-follicular variant along with a smaller lesion of same on that side . So they removed the left side as a precaution. My doc told me there was a small nodule of papillary carcinoma on the left side too but should not need RAI. I got the pathology report for the left side and it says (1) "centrally located within the thyroid is a faint pale tan grey indurated nodule. Nodule extends to tracheal surface and 0.1 cm from nontracheael surface". It also says in the (2)"surgical margins" section -involved by papillary carcinoma. Tumor extends to tracheal surface.
Can you tell me what 1 and 2 mean? They were not very for coming with me and I did not know any of this. Do not have an appt for 2 more months.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
It is not the exact hystopathological studied report but be this shows the exact anatomical position of lesion, I think the later part of the report is missing here, 1 and 2 is nothing but the measures the margin from 1cm and 2 cm, hope this will be your answer, have nice day.
