History Of Miscarriage. Is Duphaston Safe For Pregnant Women?

Does the duphaston safe for pregnant women? Doctor prescribed me 2 tablets per day because I had miscarriage 2 and half years ago in about 6 weeks. Now I have already used for two weeks. Shall I continue it or need to stop now? Please help me find true answer as I read many negative comments about duphaston. Many thanks.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Duphaston ( dyderogesterone ) as note down its indication.
This is indicated in recurrent miscarriage ( as in your case one miscarriage already taken place ) , dose 10 mg given cyclically until conception, then continuously until week of 20 ( twenty ) of pregnancy, after which dose may be gradually reduced.
Now note down side effects nausea , headache, fatigue, emotional lability.
It is contraindicated in pregnancy ( when no chance of miscarriage , but in your case already miscarriage happened so this is an essential drug for pregnancy).
Further it don't have any side effect over baby so you can use safely.
If you feel any problem, then consult your treating gynecologist , otherwise carry on . Good luck. Dr. HET
