History Of Fungal Ear Infection. Prescribed Gentamycin For Otitis Externa. Have Blocked Ear, Fluid Discharge

I had ear infection, doctor identified the same as Ot. Externa, (pls note that as a child i suffered from fungal ear infection for some years) . Not sure what lead to the current ear infection ( pricking or motion sickness could be the main reasons) , doctor prescribed antibiotics and gentamicin ear drops, i had to clean the ear in between as the medicines were not doing any wonder and the pain was unbearable due to the pus and fungus. The ear luks better now after 7 days, no pain..however i feel water in ear as its a bit blocked and evrytime i press it there is a bubbling sound. While sleeping there is fluid discharge too, watery, slightly yellow in color, not sure how to get a dry and perfectly fine ear. I trust only indian doctors and hence im writing on an online forum for the first time as the doctors abroad have disappointed me, in past i used to get rid of ear infections in 7 days, its been almst a month now and im not fully cured.

Thanks for the trust on the Indian Doctors.
If your doctor has diagnosed your problem as fungal infection, then Gentamicin is not the solution. Being an antibiotic gentamicin cannot act on fungal hyphae. Your ears need to be cleaned properly if possible with suction apparatus and preferably under the microscope. this will clear half of your symptoms including fullness. Then ear drops consisting of antifungal, antibiotics and local anaesthetic agent needs to be instilled.
take care not to allow water entry into the ear during swimming/bath.
