Hip Came Out Of Place With Brace On Thrice After Hip Replacement. Second Opinion ?
I am 57 year old have had a replacement and the hip has gone out of socket 3 times. I wore a brace on my hip 24/7 for almost 9 months. The hip came out of place with the brace ON!!! I need a second opinion on what to do. I have been having problem with my hip, called my Orthopedic dr and cannot get in to see him until August 28. I need to see a doctor for a second opinion. I live in Charleston, WV, would like to see a good doctor in the Huntington area

DISLOCATION is one of the complications after THR surgery. The causes for dislocation are multifactorial and a detailed evaluation can only help in determining the cause.
As you already had 3 dislocations with the brace on, there is no way it can be managed conservatively. A REVISION THR is needed for you.
Attempting a revision THR without knowing the cause for dislocation and without addressing the cause during revision THR will inevitably FAIL. So a thorough workup is necessary to determine the exact cause for dislocation.
I suggest you to consult a arthroplasty surgeon in your locality with good experience in dealing revision THR's.
