High Fever, Swollen Lymph Nodes And Reddish Tonsils. Given Amoxil. Due To Tonsillitis Or Wisdom Teeth?

I am sick 3 days now. High fever, swollen lymph nodes, red tonsils, difficulty swallowing , body aches e.t.c. Today I was given Amoxil and hope to improve. I noticed though that my gums have become inflamed (red and sensitive to touch) in both up and down side of the mouth (mostly on the left side). Could this be caused by the tonsillitis ? I am wondering whether all this situation may be caused by wisdom teeth? My wisdom teeth are internal and in position that they could never come out without surgery but they have never bothered me (I am 29 years old).

Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M.

I read your query regarding swollen and painful gums due to un errupted wisdom teeth teeth, swollen and tonsils which are red in colour and the neck glands are also enlarge.

On the basis of symptoms it appears as gum infection has spread to involve tonsils therefore they become swollen and red and are tender. Both tonsillar infection & gums inflammation have given rise to neck lymph nodes.

You are advice to take-

1- Antibiotic.

2- Anti inflammatory.

3- Warm saline gargling.

I hope this will help you.

Regards.
