High Fever, Slight Gum Colored Bleeding In Some Places. Is It Infection?

Hi, I am a 17 year old boy, I have suffered from high fever (103+ fever) for about 4 days is this normal? and ive been taking medication prescribed from a doctor. my fever keeps coming back once the medicine wears off. first of all, is this a very serious case of infection? second, three days into my fever ive developed a deep red, colored gum with a few places bleeding but not very severly.

Thanks for writing to health care magic!

I have gone through your question and find that you are concerned about your non-responding high grade fever, and you have started bleeding from deep red colored gums from three days.

I can say from my clinical experience that you should make another visit to your doctor for this, as the treatment you are taking doesn't not appear to be working at present.
Moreover, I feel that you should go for blood counts, espically platelet counts as you have started bleeding from your gums. Getting a bleeding and clotting time done will also help to treat you better.

There are cases in which one medicine does not give desired result in some patients, but this can be taken care of with some other drug and getting necessary investigations.

Getting fever for four days is not uncommon at all, please don't worry about it and see your doctor again, you will get better.

Hope the answer helps you.
Please ask question if you have some other query.
