High ESR Levels And C-reactive Protein. Severe Headache, Lack Of Appetite. On Insulin. Abdominal Mass On The Colonoscopy. Can You Explain?
im female, 45 years old. My ESR is 100 and c-reactive protein is also high, other blood reports are in normal range. stomach is abnormally big. no palpable lump or anything. bowel movements are normal. got a severe headache a week ago. releived it after severe vomiting. no apitite. I'm a diabetic patient on insulin. Blood sugar counts are high last days. done colonoscopy. ?abdominal mass on the report. got a stomacheache and backache yesterday. Doctor asked me to do a blood test, if it is normal, then go for ct scan. Can I know what is my problem?
Hi, Welcome to HCM, After going through your history, high ESR and C reactive protein just indicate inflammation in body and do not point any specific thing.
your stomach is big and on colonoscopy a mass is reported with available information it is not clear that mass is inside colon or outside if inside biopsy could be taken. If it is mass it is better to go for Ultrasonography and CT Scan of abdomen to know exact site and origin of mass then tumor markers and if required CT guided biopsy or Laparoscopic biopsy will be required for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment depends on of course test result.
