High BP 168/92 At The Age Of 27. Should I Be Worried?

So I went to the doctor and my blood pressure is 168/92 which is high and Im only 27 years old. After answering question about what I eat, the doctor basically said that I have too much sodium and fluids in my diet and I should cut that down. And also start an exercise program. He said keep an eye on it, but it isn't something to get all nervous about yet. I got another opinion and the 2nd doctor said pretty much the same thing. They listened to my heart and did some other tests and everything else is coming up normal....except for a high BP. Cholesterol is elevated but not high and I am a little overweight but not obese. No chest pains or anything like that either. Would too much salt and not enough exercise really cause blood pressure to go that high? Should I get a 3rd opinion?

Salt is very bad if you know you have high blood pressure. You need to slowly reduce salt. Exercise will help strengthen your heart and will contribute to lowering your numbers. My number is 140/90 and I am taking medicine. If you numbers do not go done soon, you will need to start taking medicine. Once you start, you are not supposed ever stop taking the pills.
