Hi, I have put off back surgery due to having to move I have been seeing a foot dr and got the orthotics as he said to and am he has been giving me cortisone injection from time to time I still get where my whole foot goes numb and it goes up the back of my leg I no longer get the pain in my toes as I did when I first was seeing him I use to get a lot of pain in my legs and feet from my back but I had an injection to hold me over its been about 4 months now but the pain is not the same as it use to be no one seems to really want to say anything
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The persistent pain and numbness even after taking cortisone injections is likely to be due to a nerve root compression at the level of lumbar spine. You need to get an MRI scan done to assess the severity of your problem. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
