Heavy Bright Red Bleeding, Cough, Had Baby Few Months Ago. Could This Have Anything To Do With Post Partum Issues?

Good Afternoon My daughter-in-law has heavy bright red bleeding and this started one week ago 2 days after the last day of her period, she says the bleeding is like a bright red heavier at time more so than others and also she states that she has a gushing feeling when she goes to the bathroom, cough , sneeze or pick up something that is heavy. Also, she states that she completely soaks one of the thickest pad on the market, she had a baby 4 months ago. Could this have anything to do with post partum issues? She was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2011.

Hello,

Thanks for your Query. Heavy irregular bleeding is common in Endometriosis. So it does not relate to Postpartum of her. The repeat bleeding after the expected period is attributed to hormonal changes, expulsion of residual blood and tissue. The cause can be after careful evaluation by Gynaecologist. Goahead and consult with Gynaecologist for further investigation and treatment.
