Heavy Bleeding. Ultrasound Shows Cyst And Fluid In Endometrial Cavity. Cancer?
I have been bleeding heavily for 21 days. I have had 3 transvaginal u/s. the third showed and endometrial stripe of 2.1cm and a 3.5cm right ovary cyst. I am not worried about the cyst, but the final report indicated minimal amount of fluid in the endometrial cavity. I am 45 and am pre-menopausal. I had blood work done today showing that I am severely anemic. My OB/GYN did a sonohystegram that showed the endometrial stripe of 9mm, but no indication of polyps or fibroids. A previous endometrial biopsy was negative. Another biopsy was taken today. Should I be concerned about cancer? I really do not want to have to continue like this and take Provera or some sort when at my age, a hysterectomy to me is the logical solution.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The minimal amount of fluid in the pelvic cavity and pain is likely to be due to a pelvic inflammation. These findings are not suggestive of ovarian cancer. Hysterectomy can help you. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
