Heart Palpitations, Numbness On Back Of Head. History Of Intake Of Losartan For BP, Pills For Low Potassium. Active Lifestyle. Help
I had been prescribed losartan for my bp 130/80. I had a numbing attack which put me in th ER . My potassium was low so I got pills and brought it back. Now three months later my bp is 120/75 but I still get heart palpitations and numbness on the back of my head. I am 35. Run three miles twice a week and strength training three times a week with an active job. My weight is proportional to my height. Any advice?
Dear Sir Thanks for your query. Palpitations and numbness on back of head are two different entities. 1. For palpitation, you have to get it recorded (ECG) at time of palpitation or get a 24 hour holter monitoring done, to ascertain the type of rhythm. Mostly these are premature contractions and are benign. However best way is to actually look at them and decide. Meet your cardiologist. With the kind of profile you have, nothing seems to be alarming. 2. Numbness on back of head can have various causes like irritation of local nerve, skin related problems etc. Do see a physician / neurophysician for same. Sincerely Sukhvinder Singh
